Hansa Knox, former President of Yoga Alliance

After meeting Amrit Desai in 1985, Hansa began studying at the Kripalu Center. She conducts Yoga Alliance registered teacher trainings at her studio in Denver and teaches for the International Yoga College and Rocky Mountain Institute of Yoga and Ayurveda. Hansa has served on the Board of Trustees of the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health and as President of Yoga Teachers of Colorado. *ERYT 500

 

 

 

Natasha Korshak, a longtime student of Rama Jyoti Vernon, has been practicing yoga since 1990 and teaching since 1994 years. She currently is the director of Mindfulness training and manager of the Meditation and Yoga department at Miraval Resort and Spa. Natasha is an ordained Interfaith Contemplative Minister and has worked for 3 years at the Southern Arizona Cancer Care Center where she helped create holistic programs that complemented conventional cancer treatment.

 

Kristi Hook was internationally certified in 1990 (by Swami Vishnudevananda) at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center in Nassau, Bahamas. Since then she has been a devoted student of Rama Jyoti Vernon. Kristi's training draws on a very diverse background, studying with many teachers from various schools of yoga, deepening her religious studies at University of Arizona, as well as studying Qi Gong and other Taoist practices. Her yoga practice and teaching embrace gentility and effortlessness.

 

Ruth Hartung, Co-founder/director of 7 Centers Yoga Arts 

Following an eclectic path, Ruth has trained in the tradition of Kundalini Yoga, initiated with the Bihar School of Yoga through Swami Niranjananda and now studies with and is mentored by Rama Jyoti Vernon. Ruth is president of the International Yoga College and Director of the 500-hour training program.

Kathleen Bryant earned her 500-hour certification through IYC, studying with Rama Jyoti Vernon. She took her first anatomy class at age 17 and continues to explore anatomy from a yogic perspective, taking classes from Paul Grilley and David Scott Lynn. She is currently applying her skills as a published writer in editing an asana manual based on Rama Jyoti Vernon's teachings.

All faculty members have extensive training in comparative yoga methodologies and have conducted Yoga Teacher Educational Programs nationally and internationally. They integrate a deep East-West understanding of yoga's ancient traditional roots and its application in today's world.

 

IYC faculty work cooperatively, blending skill, wisdom and expertise to offer one of the most professional and comprehensive programs available. Faculty members also include specialists in subjects such as Sanskrit, the Bhagavad GitaPatanjali's Yoga Sutras, and Yoga Therapy.

 

IYC founders, faculty and advisors are dedicated to offering a non-sectarian, multi-disciplinary program that supports each student's deepest and most profound spiritual unfoldment.

IYC Founder

 

 

Rama Jyoti Vernon, internationally known yoga teacher and founder of the International Yoga College, also founded the B.K.S. Iyengar Yoga Association of Northern California. She founded Unity In Yoga, an international organization that sponsored seven national and three international conferences and that served as the nonprofit umbrella for the Yoga Alliance. Since 1984, Rama organized over 200 conferences, forums and exchanges between the US and USSR, including the first Soviet-American Citizen's Summit in Washington, D.C. Rama is a writer, teacher and lecturer in Asian Philosophy and East-West Philosophy, which inspired her unique approach to Yoga, Dialogue and Conflict Resolution.
